Exhibited as part of my brain but not my brain, Kudos Gallery, July 2020
A Clay a Day through Lockdown is an ongoing two-part process that is reacting to and reflecting upon COVID-19. The first part is reactive, making a sculpture each night to reflect on the surmountable emotions erupted from turbulent changes. The second part is calculated and responsive, articulated through performative photography. In often unintelligible or unspeakable events, I turn to my body and trust my hands in processing the turbulent changes. I hope these clay sculptures, relics of one person’s experience, will be a sensitive and human voice within the overwhelming statistics of COVID-19.
